Physical QWERTY keyboards are no longer in fashion, sure BlackBerry is sticking with them still but everyone else has moved on to virtual keyboards. They used to be a staple on all mobile phones back in the day but that’s no longer the case but Samsung does see some incentive in offering one for the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge+. As previously reported the company is indeed going to sell a physical keyboard for these devices.
This physical keyboard can actually snap on top of the device’s display and while it does block half off the display it makes up for that by providing the tactile feedback that one only gets from physical keyboards. The device will automatically recognize the keyboard and adjust its user interface accordingly, keypresses are registered by the screen underneath and thus the keyboard doesn’t require any battery or Bluetooth connection to function. Carrying it around won’t be much of a hassle because it can be snapped to the backside of the device for storage and portability. Samsung has not yet revealed how much this keyboard is going to cost and when it’s going to be released.
