Well, what do you know? While most consumers around the world are waiting for Marshmallow to arrive on their Galaxy Note 5, Samsung is already rolling out a second Android 6.0.1 update for the device in South Korea. All major carriers in the country are rolling out the update, which comes with build number N920LKLU2BPB2.
We’re not aware of what changes or improvements are included in the update, but it likely fixes a few issues that were present on the initial Marshmallow firmware (some users faced severe bugs, including higher battery drain and the Gear VR not working with the phone). Samsung doesn’t usually roll out such updates in quick succession, but it’s certainly nice to see even though the Note 5 is still running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop in a lot of other regions.
The new firmware is available for download from our firmware section. South Korean users should also be seeing a notification for the update in the next couple of days, and they should be able to access it from the Settings » About device » Software updates menu.
