Samsung confirms plans to launch Galaxy Note 7 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage in China

There were numerous rumors about the Galaxy Note 7 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, but Samsung finally launched it earlier this month with just 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. However, the company still has plans to launch the 6GB RAM variant of the Galaxy Note 7, but only in China.

Now, Samsung Mobile chief DJ Koh has confirmed that the company plans to launch the Galaxy Note 7 with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage in China. According to The Korea Herald, DJ Koh said that the company is “reviewing the rollout” of the Galaxy Note 7 in China with upgraded memory and storage since local Chinese smartphone brands are “aggressively doing marketing with high-capacity memory.

The OnePlus 3 already comes with 6GB of RAM, and it might be hard for Samsung to convince some consumers that 4GB of RAM is enough, especially in China. Samsung is struggling in the Chinese market, and its sales have dropped three years in a row. So, it makes sense that Samsung wants to lure smartphone buyers with the upgraded model of the Galaxy Note 7.

It is expected that this upgraded variant of the Galaxy Note 7 might cost upwards of $900. Are you happy with the 4GB RAM in your smartphone? Should Samsung release the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant of the Galaxy Note 7 outside of China?
