The Galaxy S8 Active has been in development over at Samsung for a few months now. We were the first to report that the handset, bearing codename Cruiser, was being developed for AT&T.
The Galaxy S8 Active has been the subject of many leaks and rumors over the past few weeks so a lot about it is already known. Plenty of images have been leaked online. AT&T hasn’t announced the device officially but it has confirmed the Galaxy S8 Active inadvertently.
AT&T has confirmed the Galaxy S8 Active by mentioning it in the fine print of a new promotion it’s running. The promotion offers customers who switch to DirecTV and purchase a Galaxy S8 on AT&T Next $500 off on a Samsung TV.
The Galaxy S8 Active is mentioned in the list of Samsung smartphones eligible for this promotion. Eligible devices include the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and the Galaxy S8 Active. There’s only one problem, the Galaxy S8 Active has not been officially announced yet.
It’s not going to be long before AT&T officially unveils this handset. The carrier will confirm pricing and availability information when the handset is announced.
The Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.8-inch flat display, military-grade construction and a 4,000mAh battery. Everything else remains the same.
