The Galaxy Note 9, like all previous Samsung flagships since the Galaxy S8, comes with a stunning Infinity Super AMOLED display. It also supports HDR video playback, and the YouTube team has already added Samsung’s new flagship to its list of the YouTube Signature Devices. A Signature Device is one on which the user can “enjoy vivid HDR videos, immersive 360° video, and fast video load times” according to YouTube, and the Note 9 is the latest to join the party.
6 out of 18 YouTube Signature Devices are Samsung Galaxy phones
That’s right. There are a total of 18 YouTube Signature Devices right now, and six of them are Samsung phones. These include the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+, Galaxy Note 8, and the Galaxy Note 9. There isn’t any competition going on here, as the list of signature devices is simply updated based on when a phone is released. But it’s a good indication of how Samsung offers the best viewing experience on a mobile device today. Meanwhile, none of Apple’s iPhones are in the list.
