Verizon drops the Galaxy Tab S5e price a day after the Tab S6 unveiling

In the wake of the Galaxy Tab S6 unveiling, US carrier Verizon Wireless has decided to drop the price of the Galaxy Tab S5e when purchased on a 2-year contract. The LTE-compatible device carries a full retail price of $479.99 and customers would normally be expected to pay $379.99 for the Galaxy Tab S5e on a 2-year contract. Now with the latest $100 discount, they would need to pay only $279.99 at checkout.

The Galaxy Tab S5e is already an unbeatable value proposition in our eyes, and for some tablet users, it might even be a better choice than the freshly-announced Galaxy Tab S6. It depends on each user’s needs as the Tab S5e doesn’t come with an S Pen and has less powerful internal components. But Verizon customers who don’t care as much about these aspects, and who have yet to decide which Samsung tablet they should buy next might now be inclined to purchase the Galaxy Tab S5e thanks to this ongoing carrier discount.

Verizon offers only the gray Galaxy Tab S5e model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Elsewhere the tablet can also be acquired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, but the latter variant is not available on the carrier’s website. If you think 64GB of built-in memory is not enough then you will have to rely on the microSD slot which can read cards with a capacity of up to 512GB.
