With a new generation of gaming consoles being on the horizon, it’s high time for you to upgrade to a QLED TV, at least as far as Samsung is concerned. Namely, the world’s largest television manufacturer today shared a new infographic detailing the many benefits that its QLED TVs can offer to gamers. While Samsung TVs have long been considered one of the top options for enabling high-end gaming experiences in one’s living room, the industry giant now appears to be investing extra efforts into actively targeting this consumer demographic.
From ultra-low input lag and AMD FreeSync Premium support to split-screen capabilities and high-end audio playback, the infographic attached below essentially summarizes every main selling point of Samsung’s modern QLED TVs, gaming applications notwithstanding.
Samsung’s QLED gaming push continues
In terms of audio benefits, Samsung’s dedication to 3D sound is of particular note for gamers. As Sony revealed in March, the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 console will not, in fact, offer Dolby Atmos support. Instead, its proprietary Tempest Engine will output native 3D audio, meaning it should do an even better job of leveraging contemporary TVs and surround setups, especially the premium part of the market which Samsung has been dominating for a while now.
Video game consoles aside, Samsung is also keen on appealing to the PC crowd moving forward. It was just last week that the company doubled down on its ultra-premium gaming monitor business with the launch of the Odyssey G7, the world’s first such lineup with a curvature rating of 1000R. In layman’s terms, if these monitors extended into a full circle, that sphere would have a 1m radius. Samsung has also been investing in eSports for numerous years now, both on its own and through numerous partnerships with high-profile developers such as PUBG Corporation (i.e. Tencent). Now, if only we could get Microsoft’s crazy-promising Project xCloud on Samsung TVs…
