Galaxy Note 8 setting pre-order records in the US

The Galaxy Note 8 is setting new pre-records for Samsung in the United States, according to The Korea Herald, which claims that the firm has named the handset the most-reserved smartphone in the Galaxy Note range; however, the exact amount of units it’s sold in the region remains unknown.

Last week, Samsung revealed that approximately 395,000 customers rushed to pre-order the Galaxy Note 8 when reservations opened in South Korea on Thursday, September 7, outpacing the 380,000 reservations its ill-fated predecessor—the Galaxy Note 7—received over a 13-day period.

The Galaxy Note 8 is already performing a lot better than we expected, though we aren’t sure whether anticipation for a new Galaxy Note smartphone or its complex dual-camera setup is driving the bulk of the sales. One thing’s for certain, though: it isn’t its measly 3,300mAh battery.

We’re still working on our comprehensive review of the Galaxy Note 8, but if you’re itching to find out more, be sure to check out our hands-on coverage. We also rounded up a number of the device’s most-impressive features, for those who missed its announcement, which you can find here.
