Samsung has today announced that it’s added 11-nanometer FinFET processing technology, otherwise known as 11-nanometer Low Power Plus, to its advanced foundry portfolio, which will be ready for production by the first half of 2018.

Achieved by scaling the earlier 14-nanometer manufacturing process, 11-nanometer Low Power Plus is up to ten percent smaller and delivers fifteen percent higher performance, while using—roughly—the same amount of power.

“Samsung has added the 11-nanometer process to our roadmap to offer advanced options for various applications,” said Ryan Lee, Head of Foundry Marketing at Samsung.

“Through this, Samsung has completed a comprehensive process roadmap spanning from 14nm to 11nm, 10nm, 8nm, and 7nm.”
