Samsung has at last started rolling out the Android 7.0 update for the Galaxy J5 Prime in India. In line with the release that reached the Galaxy On Nxt last month, this upgrade includes all of the features baked into Nougat, in addition to the firm’s Dual Messenger feature, which clones messaging applications—WhatsApp, for example—in a sandboxed environment, letting you sign into more than one account.
- Android 7.0 Nougat
- New UX (Samsung Experience)
- Improved usability of Multi-Window
- Improved usability of Notifications
- Improved usability of Quick Settings
- A new Dual Messenger function has been added
What does Android 7.0 Nougat bring to the table?
Unless you’ve been living under a (metaphorical) rock for the past year or so, chances are you’re familiar with all the new features included in Android 7.0 Nougat. Just in case you have though, here’s a quick refresher: enhanced notifications, stricter application permissions, additional emoji and refined battery saving tools. It also bundles a number of routine bug fixes, stability improvements and speed optimizations.
To check to see if the update is ready for your Galaxy J5 Prime, open up Settings, hit About Device, then select Download Updates Manually. Alternatively, you can wait until you receive a push notification prompting you to install the over-the-air update, though that typically takes a little longer to arrive and often won’t present itself unless your handset has at least 50 percent of battery.
Thanks, Ramesh!
