Just a day after the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ started making the jump to the January 2020 security patch, Samsung has released the January security update for the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+. Samsung brought 2020’s first security patch to many of its devices in late December, and it is continuing to expand its availability every day now that the new year has kicked off.
The January update for the Galaxy S10 series is the first one for these phones since they were updated to Android 10, and it seems the initial Android 10 build was quite stable, as the new update does not bring any improvements or fixes. It only includes the latest security patch, which is also the case for the Galaxy Note 10’s January update that started rolling out yesterday.
The new update comes with software version G97*FXXS3BSL4. The update is currently available in Switzerland, but it should be making its way to more countries in the next few days. You can download the update on your S10e, S10 or S10+ over the air from the phone’s Settings » Software update menu, or by downloading the latest firmware from our firmware archive and flashing it on your device using a Windows PC.
