Samsung Electronics’ QLED 65 and QLED 75 2020 TV models have obtained certifications for their fire prevention systems and risk-reduction design structure from TÜV Rheinland, a leading German organization for product safety inspection and certification.
The certificate ensures that Samsung’s latest QLED TVs will benefit from various safety features to prevent fires, including built-in surge protections, flame-retardant designs and materials, and protection against high temperatures and physical shock.
Samsung plans to certify all of its 2020 QLED TVs
Along with the recent announcement comes an official confirmation that Samsung intends to extend the TÜV Rheinland certificate to all of its 2020 QLED TV models. The approval process requires TÜV Rheinland to conduct safety verifications in three main areas, from the development process and the product’s design to quality and safety systems.
Interestingly enough, this is the second certificate Samsung has obtained for its TV lineup since the beginning of the year. The company has joined the 8K Association not long ago to obtain the 8KA certificate, and its 2020 8K TVs will be among the first to bear it.
Safety is another matter, of course. The 8KA certificate guarantees a high image quality and helps customers pick the right TV, while the TÜV Rheinland certificate ensures that the product has gone through the necessary safety steps to achieve a reduced risk of fire.
Samsung’s 2020 QLED TV lineup – or at least part of it – is expected to make an appearance at CES 2020 next week.
