Samsung released the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update to the LTE variant of the Galaxy Tab S6 last week. The update was rolled out months ahead of Samsung’s own schedule, but the Wi-Fi only variant of the tablet was left out for some reason. Now, the Galaxy Tab S6’s Wi-Fi only variant seems to be getting the latest update as well.
The non-LTE variant of the Galaxy Tab S6 (SM-T860) is getting the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update in Germany and the US. The latest software update, which carries firmware version T860XXU3CUB7, also includes the March 2021 security patch. The Galaxy Tab S6 was launched in 2019 with Android 9 Pie on board.
The update brings a refreshed UI design, improved stock apps, better performance, more Dynamic Lock Screen features, additional lock screen widgets, automatic switching of Galaxy Buds between various One UI 3.1 devices, Google Home smart controls, the ability to use the tablet as the second screen for a windows PC, keyboard sharing with a smartphone, improved Digital Wellbeing and Parental Controls, and more.
One UI 3.1 features also include the ability to remove GPS location data while sharing images and Private Share. The update also includes all the Android 11 goodies such as one-time permissions, auto permissions reset, chat bubbles, dedicated media player widget in the quick settings section, a conversations section in the notifications area, and more emojis.
If you are a Galaxy Tab S6 user in Germany or the US, you can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. Alternatively, you can download the entire firmware from our firmware section and flash it manually on the device.
