Samsung began rolling out the One UI 3.1 firmware update for the Galaxy M51 in Russia last week, and thankfully it looks like the initial release went on without a hitch, as Samsung is now bringing the same update to the Galaxy M51 in additional regions including Brazil, India, Mexico, and the Netherlands.
Same as before, the latest Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update for the Galaxy M51 can be identified by firmware number M515FXXU2CUB7. Likewise, the March 2021 security patch is included with this latest release, but the highlight is, of course, One UI 3.1 and all the new features it brings with it.
The One UI experience is reborn
As you would expect given that we’re talking about an M-branded mid-range phone, the latest firmware update introduces the ‘Core‘ version of One UI 3.1 as opposed to the full-fledged One UI package. One UI 3.1 Core was stripped down of some features, but on the bright side, users will have access to a more modern-looking user interface with new animations and redesigned home / lock screens.
Galaxy M51 owners in markets where One UI 3.1 Core is now rolling out should be able to download the new firmware by launching the Settings app on their phones, accessing Software update, and tapping Download and install. SamMobile readers can skip these steps by downloading the firmware from our archive and installing it on their phones manually using a Windows PC.
