Galaxy Z Fold 2 is Samsung’s latest foldable to get June 2021 security update

The Galaxy Z Flip 5G was the first Android smartphone to get the June 2021 security patch. A few days later, Samsung released the update to the Galaxy Z Flip. The company has now released the latest security patch to its flagship foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 2.

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 has started getting a new software update in Ukraine. The latest update comes with firmware version F916BXXS1DUE5, and it includes the June 2021 security patch. Samsung is yet to publish detailed documentation regarding this security patch, but that could happen over the next few days. The update could roll out in most other markets, including Asia, Europe, North America, and South America, within the next couple of weeks.

If you are a Galaxy Z Fold 2 user in Ukraine, you might have already received the OTA update notification. If you haven’t received the new update yet, you can check for it manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and clicking on Download and install. If you don’t want to wait for the OTA update, you can download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in the second half of last year with Android 10-based One UI 2.5 on board. Earlier this year, the phone received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update and then the One UI 3.1 update. The foldable phone is currently on Samsung’s monthly security update schedule.
