If you cast your mind back to Samsung’s Unpacked event last month, you may recall that the South Korean company announced it had teamed up with the call screening service White Pages to develop an exclusive software tweak for its latest flagships that analyses every incoming call and compares it to a comprehensive database. It then provides users with a caller’s identity even when the number is not saved in their contact list, thereby making it easier than ever to avoid nuisance calls.
It’s a feature that is market dependent, but stranger is the fact that this feature isn’t enabled by default on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge – so you manually have to activate it by delving through the Settings menu. Thankfully, it’s extremely easy to do.
Here’s how:
- Open Settings
- Tap Advanced Features
- Locate and select Identify Unsaved Numbers.
- Slide the circular toggle from Off to On.
Voilà! You have successfully enabled the mystery caller identification feature on your Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge. If you happen to run into any issues along the way, do be sure to let us know in the comments section below, and we’ll do our very best to get you back on track.
