Samsung has released a new software update to the Galaxy Tab Active 3, and it brings the July 2021 security patch to the rugged tablet. The update is currently available only in Hong Kong and could roll out to other markets in the next few days. This is Samsung’s third tablet to receive the new security patch.
The Galaxy Tab Active 3 is getting a new software update with firmware version T575XXS3BUF2 in Hong Kong. The new update fixes various privacy and security-related issues, and it also includes a fix for the Android Auto bug that we had reported a few days ago. Samsung hasn’t published the list of bugs and vulnerabilities it has fixed with its latest security update, but it could do that in the next few days.
If you are a Galaxy Tab Active 3 user in Hong Kong, you might have already received a notification of the new software update. If you haven’t, you can check for the latest firmware manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy Tab Active 3 in late 2020 with Android 10 on board. The tablet features an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and an MIL-STD-810G-compliant design for drop and shock resistance. It is powered by the high-end Exynos 9810 processor. It received the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update three months ago.
