Samsung launches many smartphones and tablets every quarter, and it can be quite hard to keep track of their software update schedule. The company had announced that it would offer three major Android OS updates and up to four years of security updates to its high-end smartphones and some mid-range devices, while the remaining devices will get two major Android updates and three years of software updates.
Some mid-range phones get monthly security updates, and others don’t, which could confuse consumers while deciding which smartphones to buy. So, the company has now revealed the software update schedule for some of its recently launched mid-range smartphones. The Galaxy A22, Galaxy A22 5G, Galaxy M32, and Galaxy F22 will get quarterly security updates and two major Android OS updates. Samsung has listed these devices on its website that is dedicated to software updates.
Samsung has improved its software update game a lot over the past year. It has been consistently releasing new security patches faster than Google. However, it is no longer the only Android OEM to offer up to four years of security updates. OnePlus announced earlier this week that it will match Samsung by releasing three major Android OS updates and four years of security updates to its flagship devices.
